SafeTeam is an early-warning communication system that is used to identify students at risk of posing threats to themselves and to others.
The program addresses potential suicidal and violent behaviors before they erupt. SafeTeam also detects related mental health issues such as substance
abuse, teen pregnancy, eating disorders, depression, and other forms of mental and physical illness.
SafeTeam was developed by the Mental Health Association in Tulsa. The program’s success is based on a continuous flow of information among
students, parents and school staff. When a critical situation or issue arises, the response is rapid and the level of intervention is appropriate.
Most importantly, all information is confidential, released only on a need-to-know basis.
